Hear our prayer
Most Merciful God I confess…
That Good news starts with a Good God who created everything Good right and beautiful. But it isn’t long into the Story, and every day since, that we realize that this world is not the way it was intended. Sin’s power has corrupted creation, communities, and even us. It doesn’t reign unchecked, but it is rampant in the world today.
As you pray this prayer let your heart be moved with repentance (turning from wrong ways of believing and living back to the true story) and filled with hope. Your God is not far away he is near and delights to welcome back all who turn to him.
Pray Slowly. Feel deeply. Let your mind wander to the ways this week that you have not lived out God’s intention for humanity care for creation, exist in loving relationships, and deeply abide with Him.
Breathe In. Breathe Out.
Most Merciful God. I confess that I’ve sinned against you in thought, word, and deed.
We confess that we have not loved you with our whole hearts, We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your son Jesus Christ have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name.
