We are a people desperately in need of rest.
We fill our lives beyond capacity. We speed up to frantic speed and we would argue that it does something to us spiritually. This acceptable, but hurried pace of life goes past our schedule, and into our very souls. We are spinning our wheels and can’t seem to take our feet off the gas pedal. This sermon invites us to see the Sabbath as an invitation (and probably a command) to take our feet of the gas pedal and rediscover the God who has been with us all along.
